We work closely with city, county, and state social service agencies, police departments, victim advocates, family resource centers, nonprofit agencies, and community service programs. The primary focus for the services we provide is the underserved and underrepresented minority populations, taking care to provide culturally appropriate and relevant services.Internship DescriptionCasa Counseling is looking for Students who are interested in completing their Internship hours for their Undergraduate program with us at the Orange County offices.We are looking for a responsible intern to perform a variety of administrative tasks. The duties of the Administrative Assistant include providing support to our case managers. Responsibilities include making travel and meeting arrangements, preparing reports, answering phones, speaking with clients, and more. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools, like MS Excel and office equipment.ResponsibilitiesAnswer and direct phone callsOrganize and schedule appointmentsPlan meetings and take detailed minutesWrite and distribute emails, correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and formsAssist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reportsUpdate and maintain office policies and proceduresOrder office supplies and research new deals and suppliersMaintain contact listsProvide general support to the administrationAct as the point of contact for internal and external clientsProvide event support before and during community mental health eventsResearch and maintain a list of community mental health eventsSkillsBilingual in English and SpanishProven experience as an administrative assistant or office admin assistantKnowledge of office management systems and proceduresWorking knowledge of office equipment, like printers and fax machinesProficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize workAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong organizational skills with the ability to multi-taskPlease note this is a Non-Paid position. We are looking for someone who can commit 6 months and at least 10 hours a week.
