This role offers the opportunity to work closely with operations, gain exposure to construction accounting, and play a key role in the financial success of our projects.Role OverviewThe Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy in financial records, payroll, job costing, and reporting. This role works closely with project managers, field teams, and leadership to keep projects financially aligned and compliant.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with monthly close, including financial statements and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting Process accounts payable, receivable, and subcontractor pay applications Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger balances Manage lien waivers and subcontractor documentation Support weekly payroll processing, including certified payroll reporting (prevailing wage) Review job cost data and verify timecards based on trade classifications Coordinate with project managers and field teams to maintain accurate project financials Ensure proper application of sales tax and compliance with accounting standards Assist with audits, reporting, and special projects as needed What We’re Looking For3–5+ years of accounting experience (construction industry preferred) Strong understanding of general ledger, job costing, and financial reporting Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills Experience with payroll processing (construction payroll a plus) Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA or progress toward certification is a plus What We OfferCompetitive compensation and benefits Medical, dental, life, and disability coverage 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Career growth opportunities within a stable, respected company Supportive, team-oriented work environment
