School Safety Officer - Fees College Prep Middle School

School Safety OfficerProvide assistance to the administrative staff in dealing with disciplinary issues on campus. Patrol campus grounds. Maintain school rules and regulations. Monitor campus for fires, vandals and potential unsafe conditions.Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GEDOne (1) year directly related experience in the area of security or law enforcementState of Arizona Identity Verified (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance CardObtain and maintain NCI, CPR, and 1st Aid training.Monitor students throughout the day and escort students to and from class or to the administrative office as required.Detain students that are unauthorized to be out of class and process discipline referrals.Coordinate peer mediations for students.Search students for weapons, drugs and other contraband as required.Serve on school discipline and safety committees.Patrol school grounds, and stop unauthorized visitors and direct to administrative offices.Make rounds of building to ensure safety.Maintain rules and regulations of district and school.Monitor campus for unusual activity, fire, vandals, suspicious persons, etc.Maintain safety precautions.Photograph students for school ID card.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge of principles and methods in safety and securityKnowledge of district policies and proceduresKnowledge of school rules and regulationsSkill handling conflicts among studentsSkill maintaining school rulesSkill monitoring a campus for potential safety issuesAbility to walk and/or stand for long periods of timeOutdoor weather conditionsExposure to potential physical harmExposure to infectious diseaseMust be able to work and/or stand for extended periods of timeCategory: ClassifiedWork Year: 189 DaysDepartment/School: Transportation & SafetyGrade: 46Reports To: Director of Transportation & SafetyEvaluation: Classified Personnel EvaluationSupervises: N/A
