Job Description
The PT PTA plays a crucial role in supporting physical therapists by delivering patient-centered care primarily in home health settings. This position involves assisting with therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation activities, contributing to treatment planning, and ensuring proper use of therapeutic equipment to promote patient recovery and mobility. ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care under physical therapist supervision in home health environmentsAssist patients with prescribed therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation activitiesSupport treatment planning by collaborating with the physical therapistDocument patient progress and update treatment records accuratelyManage and maintain therapy equipmentEducate patients and families on exercise routines and safety precautionsFacilitate clear communication between patients, therapists, and healthcare team members Required QualificationsMinimum of 1 year experience in physical therapy assistingCompletion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant programValid PTA license or certification as required by state regulations Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of therapeutic modalities relevant to physical therapyStrong understanding of anatomy and physiologySkills in patient assessment and treatment documentationEffective communication and time management abilitiesExperience collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
