Power Systems Engineer
Who we are
Canfield Engineering & Integration (CEI) is an electrical, instrumentation, and controls engineering firm based in Chandler, AZ. We serve as the electrical and controls engineer of record on water, wastewater, and industrial projects, working alongside prime engineering firms and contractors across Arizona and the Southwest. Our team covers power system design, instrumentation, controls, and systems integration — from study through startup.
We're looking for a Power Systems Engineer with a focus on power system studies. Studies are the core of the role, but not the whole of it — you'll also have the chance to move into broader electrical engineering work across our project portfolio as your interests and strengths develop. This is a role with room to grow beyond the study desk for the right engineer.
What you'll do
Gather or coordinate gathering field data on all components required for power system studies.
Perform load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash, and equipment evaluation studies.
Perform motor starting, transient, and harmonic analysis.
Analyze study results and produce reports, including arc flash hazard labels.
Install or coordinate install of arc flash hazard labels on site.
Lead study review meetings with clients.
Recommend mitigations for arc flash, short circuit, and coordination concerns.
Create breaker/relay setpoint files and modify breaker/relay settings on site.
Contribute to broader electrical engineering efforts — power system design, project support, and field engineering — as interest and project needs align.

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering.
5 or more years in engineering or field service in an industrial environment.

Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Valid driver's license and a good driving record, maintained throughout employment.
