A successful candidate will be high energy, driven, resourceful and a problem solver.RESPONSIBILITIES: Manage all customer-specific Advanced Quality Planning requirements, utilizing all applicable customer and internal specific systems throughout launch.Work with Launch team to ensure that all launch deliverables are completed on time and critical issues are identified and resolved timely.Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes, workflows, and layouts.Leverage resources, best practices, and experience to ensure that quality and business objectives are achieved in new product developmentIdentify areas of improvement in manufacturing operations.Recommend and implement changes to safety procedures, work methods, and labor standards.Work with existing facilities on productivity improvement projects.Initiates and/or manages cost reductions and improvement projectsIdentify areas to reduce waste in all manufacturing processes, focusing on process improvements using LEAN methodologyResponsible for leading, developing, managing and executing all quality systems required within their area of responsibility. This includes working with customers, suppliers (external and internal), Launch personnel, and Manufacturing staffLead APQP and PPAP activities for both internal and external suppliers – including DFMEA, PFMEA, and Control Plans & Track Supplier PPAP readiness and approval of sameMaintenance of APQP documentation and support of the corrective action process are primary tasks. This includes preparation and submission of customer required documentation and construction of 8D problem-solving responsesSupporting in certification audits and promoting safety in the manufacturing facilityManage Gaging needs and Fixture design, on-time build and prove-out (passing Gage R/R)Managing Product Audits, First Piece Inspection and Mistake -Proof Audits, ensuring passing resultsResponsibility for customer notifications related to quality or delivery issues, including notifying its CB on specialquality status per customer specific requirements (CSR)The position is primarily first shift, but includes support of other shiftsREQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science or related3+ years of experience in quality manufacturingWorking knowledge of automotive industry APQP tools (Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, PSOs, etc.)IATF certification experienceMust be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have a good understanding of geometrical dimensioning and toleranceMust be able to generate, follow and explain detailed proposals and operating procedures (i.e. assembly instructions, inspection procedures, capital proposals)Travel required up to 10%Who we areNexForm, headquartered in Battle Creek, Michigan, is a vertically integrated manufacturer of engineered fiber solutions for automotive thermal and noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) applications.
