Controller, Full-Time Engagement Professional (FTEP)About the OpportunityRobert Half's Full-Time Engagement Professionals (FTEP) program offers accounting and finance professionals the stability of full-time employment combined with the variety of project-based consulting work. As a Controller within the FTEP program, you will begin your first assignment supporting a growing consumer goods organization located in Middlesex County, NJ.This role is ideal for a hands-on Controller who can step into a fast-paced environment, drive accounting operations, and provide leadership through critical financial initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processOversee general ledger, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparationManage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and inventory accountingEnsure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policiesReview and approve journal entries and balance sheet reconciliationsAnalyze financial results and provide reporting to executive leadershipSupport budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management activitiesPartner with operations and supply chain teams on inventory controls and cost accounting initiativesCoordinate external audits and tax-related requestsIdentify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficienciesMentor and develop accounting staff as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experiencePrior Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager experience requiredStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reportingExperience within consumer goods, manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-intensive environments preferredAdvanced ERP system experience requiredStrong proficiency with Microsoft ExcelAbility to quickly assess processes, identify risks, and implement solutionsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsWhy Join Robert Half's FTEP Program?Full-time salaried employment with benefitsExposure to diverse organizations and industriesOpportunity to lead high-impact accounting and finance projectsOngoing support from Robert Half leadershipProfessional development and career growth opportunitiesStability of permanent employment combined with the variety of consulting assignmentsLocation: Middlesex County, NJSchedule: HybridPosition Type: Full-Time, Salaried FTEP Consultant
