Project Engineer, Expert – Civil/Water ResourcesAuburn, CA (Hybrid – 50% Field Work)Duration: 5 MonthsRate: $90–110/hr on W2Schedule: 4/10 Work Week (Monday–Thursday)We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer, Expert to support utility and infrastructure-related engineering projects in the Auburn, CA area. This role requires a strong background in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, and Construction Management, along with the ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.This is a hybrid position with approximately 50% field work. Candidates must be local to Auburn, CA or within a 60-mile radius.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestigate, analyze, and resolve engineering and operational issuesSupport planning, execution, and delivery of civil and water resource projectsPrepare operational reports, project documentation, and engineering analysesDevelop and support contract documentation and contract execution activitiesCoordinate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and field personnelMonitor project schedules, priorities, and deliverables to ensure timely completionPromote and maintain a strong safety culture across all project activitiesIdentify and mitigate unsafe conditions in field and office environmentsSupport construction oversight, field inspections, and project implementation activitiesTake ownership of team goals and contribute to overall project successRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering disciplineStrong experience in Civil Engineering and Water Resources projectsConstruction/project engineering experienceExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong Excel and reporting skillsAbility to manage multiple time-sensitive prioritiesProven track record of meeting or exceeding business objectivesStrong communication, teamwork, accountability, and customer focusProject management experiencePreferred QualificationsProfessional Engineer (PE) License7+ years of post-graduate engineering experienceUtility or operations experienceExperience supporting field construction or infrastructure projectsAdditional InformationHybrid role with significant field presenceMileage/travel reimbursement may be available with prior manager approvalLocal candidates only (within 60 miles of Auburn, CA)If you have a strong civil engineering background with water resources and construction expertise and are looking for an impactful utility infrastructure project, we'd love to connect with you.
