PCB Test & Repair Tech Temporary/Contract Assignment

Description JOB SUMMARYA PCB Test & Repair Technician at Doble Engineering will be responsible for repairing and modifying printed circuit boards (PCBs) by precisely soldering, desoldering, and replacing components, including fine-pitch, surface mount (SMT) and through hole parts. This role will be based at our Marlborough MA office reporting to Senior Manager of Operations.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSSoldering/Desoldering- Acuurately rework PCB's by soldering and desoldering various components, including fine-pitch, SMT and through hole components often under a microscopeComponent rework- Remove and replace defective components on PCBInspection/Testing - conduct visual inspection and perform continuity check on work to ensure proper functionality and adherence to quality specificationEquipment Operation - Set up and operate specialized equipment, such as soldering stations and microscopes for assembly rework and inspectionsDocumentation and collaboration - maintain records of repairs, troubleshoot issues and communicate findings and potential improvements to engineering and quality teamsAbility to read and understand electrical schematics, blueprints and other engineering documentationRelated duties as assigned by managerQUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION:High School degree or electronic technical certificate holding certifications from industry recognized bodies such as IPC or J-STDREQUIRED EXPERIENCE:Strong technical background in electronics, with a deep understanding of PCB assembly and repair processesAdvanced skills in fine pitch, SMT and through hole soldering adhering to IPC- 610 and J-STD -001 standardsExperience using soldering irons, microscopes, multimeters, and other specialized toolsAbility to diagnose and resolve issues at the component level on complex PCBsPREFERRED EXPERIENCE (Not Required):Attention to Detail- meticulous precision required for complex rework tasksGood written and verbal communication skills, able to collaborate with teammates and engineering teamsFamiliar with Microsoft Office suite, Word, Excel, OutlookKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:Problem Solving and debugging skillsExcellent communication skillsHigh degree of accuracy and attention to detailAbility to proactively communicate status and any issues to managementAbility to meet critical deadlines while managing multiple prioritiesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers.
