Implementation Project Manager
The Project Manager, 3PL Implementation leads the end-to-end onboarding and transition of third-party logistics (3PL) partners. Serving as the primary implementation lead, this role is accountable for planning, coordinating, and executing 3PL launches—including warehouse onboarding, IT/system integrations, operational readiness, and regulatory compliance.
The Project Manager partners cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Quality, IT, Finance, Customer Service, and external 3PL providers to deliver projects on time, within scope, and in full compliance with GDP/GxP requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Implementation & Transition Management
Lead end-to-end 3PL launches, site onboarding, transitions, expansions, and divestitures.
Develop and manage detailed project plans, scope, milestones, dependencies, and risks.
Coordinate all phases: design, build, testing, validation, cutover, and post-go-live stabilization.
Serve as the primary interface between internal business units and external 3PL teams.
Cross-Functional Coordination & IT Integration
Drive alignment across Supply Chain, Quality, IT, Finance, Customer Service, and Regulatory Affairs.
Coordinate IT activities, including EDI, WMS, ERP (SAP) master data setup, and integration testing.
Facilitate project governance meetings, status tracking, and executive briefings.
Ensure all implementations comply with GDP, cGMP, and internal QMS guidelines.
Support change controls, risk assessments, SOP development, and validation/qualification activities.
Manage operational readiness: training, inventory transfers, hypercare support, and SLA alignment.
Capture lessons learned to build standardized, scalable implementation frameworks.
Qualifications Required
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 5–8+ years in logistics, supply chain, or distribution project management.
Niche Expertise: Direct experience implementing or transitioning 3PL warehouse operations.
Industry: Strong understanding of regulated distribution environments (pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare preferred).
Preferred
Experience within GDP/GxP environments and quality management systems.
Familiarity with SAP, WMS, EDI integrations, and ERP implementations.
PMP, Lean, or Six Sigma certification.
Experience supporting multi-site or international 3PL networks (e.g., Canada, cold chain).
