Position: HouseKeeper Part-TimeSupervised by: Homeless Manager of Programs & Director of ProgramsDepartment: Housing StabilityClassification: Part-time, 24 hours per weekSchedule: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8am - 5pm (occasional 4 hours on Saturday when needed)Position: Status: Non-ExemptLocation: PendletonStarting Wage: $17.03/hr Plus $2 per hour Hazard PayBenefits: FSA, Life Insurance, 401K Plan, Sick LeavePOSITION OVERVIEW:The Housekeeper performs a variety of general tasks in resident rooms, offices, public areas, hallways, restrooms, employee break rooms and other assigned areas of the Promise Inn Homeless Shelter. This person will help to create and maintain a safe, clean and orderly environment for residents, volunteers, visitors, and team members. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:An employee in this position may be called upon to do any or all the following essential functions. Required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when working.Perform daily cleaning of the shelter facility; including client rooms, laundry area exterior patio, interior common areas such as staff work area, front desk, staff bathroom, and staff laundry roomClean and prepare client rooms when clients exitAssist with the completion of client room laundryEmpty all recycling bins and trash receptaclesSort and put away all exited client belongings in a timely manner.Identify minor maintenance issues and communicate findings to Program ManagerOperate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, sweepers, and broomsFollow proper procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and dispensersSort, stack, and arrange items in an organized mannerMaintain inventory of cleaning supplies and order supplies that need restockingMaintain the health and sanitation standards of the shelter building by following a prepared checklistMaintain appropriate boundaries when working with shelter residents and staffMaintain confidentiality, neutrality, and professionalismPerforms other duties as assigned REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, abilities and minimum qualifications necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee must occasionally lift, and/or carry/move objects up to 50 pounds. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, smart phones, photocopiers/scanners, shredders and filing cabinets. In addition to working in a typical office environment, the employee will be required to work in areas inhabited by homeless persons. Employee will be in contact with a diverse population, including individuals and families, that may be experiencing crisis. You may also encounter individuals who are battling mental health concerns and substance abuse. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Must pass a criminal history background investigation however, a conviction of a crime may not necessarily disqualify and individual from this position.CAPECO is a drug free workplace and pre-employment drug screening will be required. Due to federal funding, our drug screening includes the use of marijuana.Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver's license and insurable driving record is required.Travel may be required within the service area. Occasional out of town or overnight travel. Travel may require the use of a personal vehicle. Mileage for the business-related use of a personal vehicle will be reimbursed at the standard mileage rate as published per IRS guidelines.
