Forward Deployed Engineer

Forward Deployed Engineer | AI Legal Tech | NYC $170-$350k + equity Our client is building AI for law. They recently closed a $27M Series A from top-tier investors, grew revenue 4x in the last four months, and are already outperforming lawyers on real production legal tasks. They are hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with law firm customers and own high-priority deployments end-to-end. This is a fit for a software engineer who wants to stay hands-on technically while being much closer to customers, product, and revenue. What you’ll do: Scale AI agents for law firms ranging from solo practices to firms with hundreds of lawyers Own technical deployments and pilots end-to-end for strategic customers Work directly with customers to understand workflows, triage issues, and guide implementation Turn customer pain into technical specs that influence the core product roadmap Build, debug, and ship product improvements when needed Partner closely with engineering and product on what to prioritize What we’re looking for: 1–5 years of software engineering experience Strong production engineering background, ideally from a high-growth startup Experience with TypeScript, Python, and ideally React Exposure to LLM APIs, AI agents, RAG, or AI-native product patterns Strong communication skills and interest in customer-facing work High agency, strong ownership, and comfort in a fast-moving startup environment Strong signals: Prior FDE experience Experience shipping full-stack product features, APIs, integrations, or internal tools Background at a high-growth startup, AI company, or strong technical environment Founder, founding engineer, or early startup experience Clear examples of things you have built and shipped
