Project EstimatorWe are seeking a skilled Project Estimator to develop detailed and competitive cost estimates for custom equipment, systems, and technical projects. This role partners with Sales, Engineering, and Operations teams to evaluate customer requirements, clarify scope, and generate accurate proposals. The position plays a key role in supporting business growth by ensuring projects are clearly defined, properly priced, and positioned for successful execution.ResponsibilitiesReview customer specifications, drawings, RFQs, and technical documentation to determine project scope and requirementsDevelop detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, components, fabrication, and subcontracted servicesCollaborate with engineering, sales, and operations teams to define solution concepts and pricing strategiesObtain vendor and subcontractor quotations for purchased equipment, components, and servicesPrepare formal proposals, pricing summaries, and project scope documentationEvaluate project risks, schedules, and technical considerations during the estimating processSupport project handoff meetings to ensure smooth transition from sales to execution teamsTrack estimate accuracy by reviewing completed project costs and identifying improvement opportunitiesAssist with value engineering and cost optimization initiativesMaintain estimating databases and historical cost recordsQualificationsMinimum 5 years of experience estimating technical projects, equipment, or engineered systemsStrong knowledge of manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, or production processesAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and specificationsExperience estimating material costs, purchased components, and subcontracted servicesAbility to develop accurate labor estimates based on production capabilities and processesExperience working with bills of materials (BOMs) and cost breakdown structuresStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for cost analysis and estimate trackingExperience in a manufacturing, production, or engineered solutions environmentFamiliarity with ERP systems and estimating softwareStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlinesAbility to collaborate cross-functionally with technical and commercial teamsBachelor's degree and relevant industry experience preferred
