Surgery - Vascular Physician Assistant
As the nationally recognized leader in the treatment of vein disease and venous insufficiency, CVR s hiring philosophy is simple: Attract and train the most qualified individuals and provide them the opportunity to strive for excellence and advance their career goals.Provides excellent patient care and medical services as related to venous insufficiency under the supervision of a physician.Duties and Responsibilities:Contributes to physician's effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physician directivesAssesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical historiesDetermines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests; identify abnormal results and bring these to the attention of the attending physicianWorks closely with Nursing, Surgical and Vascular Lab StaffProvides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans under the direction of the attending physician.Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Formulates a multimodality treatment strategy for the patients venous insufficiency under the direction of the attending physician.Assists in medical procedures as requested by the attending physicianEducates patients on treatment options, recommendations of the attending physician and assists patient in scheduling treatmentsParticipates in telephone communication with patients as neededCreates a letter of medical necessity when required by patient insurance companyComplies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.Be involved with all continuity of care initiatives, including one month, six month and then annual follow upsMaintain accurate and detailed reports and records; complete all work within established time requirementsTrain new clinical staff as neededWork together with the team members at the center(s) to reach center goalsAssist in community events CVR sponsors as neededAttend periodic team meetingsProcess medical instruments and medical waste per CVR standardsAdhere to all infection control, universal precautions and safety policiesUtilize appropriate customer service skills during interactions with patients, physicians visitors, staff, and other personnelOther duties as assigned by management, or clinical directorMinimum Requirements:Must be licensed Physician AssistantMinimum of 2 years of previous PA experience requiredMust have reliable transportationSchedule: Tuesday and Thursday in Salisbury, MD from 7am-5pmQualifications:Excellent clinical skillsExcellent communication skillsProfessionalMust have a strong work ethicExcellent customer service as demonstrated by being sensitive to patients needs and feelingsDedicated to follow-through and maximizing patient resultsOrganized and detail-orientedFlexibility and adaptability as it relates to schedules, responsibilities and prioritiesThe ability to interact with, support, and influence positively the behavior and activities of patients, physicians and staff/co- workersThe ability to work independently and as a cooperative member of a team
