Job Title: Facility Maintenance (Temperature-Controlled LTL Warehouse)Location: Lemont, ILDepartment: Operations / MaintenanceReports To: Warehouse Manager or Terminal ManagerPosition SummaryThe Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the integrity, safety, and efficiency of a temperature-controlled LTL warehouse facility. This role ensures all building systems, dock equipment, and material handling systems operate reliably to support time-sensitive freight in a climate-controlled environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on:Dock doors, levelers, seals, and restraintsElectrical, plumbing, and lighting systemsConcrete repairs, racking repairs/adjustmentsMiscellaneous building repairsTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues and perform timely repairs to minimize downtimeCoordinate with third-party vendors for specialized repairsMaintain facility safety standards, including OSHA compliance and hazard preventionConduct daily facility walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs or safety concernsMaintain maintenance logs, work orders, and compliance documentationSupport emergency repairs and be available for on-call situations as neededAssist with facility upgrades, equipment installations, and continuous improvement initiatives QualificationRequired:High school diploma or GED2+ years of facility maintenance experience in an industrial or warehouse settingBasic knowledge electrical, and mechanical systemsAbility to troubleshoot and repair equipment independentlyComfortable working in cold storage environments (refrigerated and freezer conditions) Preferred: Experience in temperature-controlled or food-grade logistics environmentsBasic welding or fabrication skills are a plusSkills & CompetenciesStrong problem-solving and diagnostic skillsAttention to detail and safety awarenessAbility to work independently and prioritize tasksGood communication and teamwork skillsTime management in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Working ConditionsFrequent exposure to cold and freezer environments (as low as -10°F)Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing, bending, standing)May require working nights, weekends, or overtime during peak periods Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen.FFE is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
