CNC Machinist

Ampco Pumps Company is a fast-growing manufacturer of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps used in the food and dairy industries, desalination, and various chemical and industrial applications. Due to expansion, we have an opening at our Glendale location for a CNC Machinist. This is a 1st Shift position- Hours are Monday 4:00am-4:00pm, Tuesday & Wednesday 4:00am-1:30pm, and Thursday 4:00am-1:00pm. Duties/ResponsibilitiesInterpreting engineering drawings and CNC programs.Setting up Mazak vertical machining centers and tooling accurately and efficientlyAdjusting and Programming in MazatrolMaking necessary offset adjustments to tools and work offsets.Maximizing efficiency by inspecting, cleaning, and skidding while the machine is cycling.Inspecting machined parts and ensure they are within the appropriate tolerance.Communicating relevant quantity and quality issues to management.Assisting with other Machine Shop projects, as needed.Required SkillsMust have strong attention to detail.Experience on Mazak mills is helpful.Knowledge of Mazatrol programming, CMM and inspection equipment is preferred.Education/ExperienceHigh school diploma or GEDTrade School plus 1 year of CNC Machining experience -OR- 3+ years of CNC Machining experience preferred.Willing to train the right candidate that is motivated and ready to work.Physical RequirementsMust be able to lift 50lbs.Must be able to stand 8-10 hours a day.
