Quality Control Lab Technician

Description: The QC Lab Technician supports the laboratory workflow in an efficient and effective manner by assisting the Analytical and Quality Control Chemists / Scientists in maintaining the laboratory. The QC Lab Technician also has a basic understanding or the ability to learn the requirements and regulations in the Pharmaceutical industry; such as, GMPs/GDPs and routine quality control sampling and testing procedures. This position reports directly to the QC Associate Director.
Responsibilities:
Performs routine daily balance checks and assists with minor lab equipment maintenance or instrument calibration.
Monitors the Volumetric Solutions and Test Solutions so that they are current.
Work with supervisor to, initiate optimization experiments
Coordinates laboratory sample retrieval and entry into lab systems following standard procedures.
Regular lab maintenance
Maintain accurate records of procedures and experimental results
Maintain the Dissolution Laboratory ie. Ensure the cleanliness and operation of the Equipment
Prepare Dissolution Media and perform the test on Dissolutions Apparatus
Organizes and maintains the inventory of laboratory supplies.
Obtains samples and identifies raw materials from drums.
Ensures the glassware is washed and dried according to the SOP and that the supply is adequate to ensure smooth operation of the laboratory.
Assists analysts with preparation of reagents, diluents or solution’s following written procedures or methods.
Assist analysts with simple lab tests such as pH, LOD, viscosity and physical appearance.
Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed and contribute to the management of regulatory affairs.
Ensure proper sampling & sample submission of incoming raw material and products including timely disposition, proper retention of samples and documentation of product analysis records.
Perform & record appropriate physical evaluation such as Disintegration Time & Weight Variation etc.
Monitors the Volumetric Solutions and Test Solutions so that they are current.
Education Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent and working towards a Bachelor's in Chemistry or related field.
