DescriptionThe Senior DevOps & SRE Manager – Platform Reliability & Global Operations is a senior technical leader responsible for the reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence of a complex, multi‐platform ecosystem spanning applications, workflows, event streaming, and data platforms.This role leads a blended DevOps and SRE organization, manages third‐party service providers, and ensures 24x7 follow‐the‐sun operations. The ideal candidate has deep experience running global large‐scale 24x7 production platforms, adhering to (service and incident) SLAs, and operating confidently during off‐hours while delegating effectively across global teams.LOCATION & WORK ARRANGEMENTCandidates must be able to work primarily within Pacific or Central Time Zone business hours to support collaboration with global teams.Employees located within 50 miles of a Qcells office (e.g., Irvine, San Francisco, Houston, or South Carolina locations) are expected to follow the company's hybrid work policy of at least three in‐office days per week.RESPONSIBILITIESLead and scale a global, multi‐tier (L1/L2/L3) DevOps and SRE organizationDesign and operate follow‐the‐sun on‐call‐ and support modelsOwn incident management, including Sev‐1/Sev‐2 incident command and executive communicationDefine and operate SLOs, SLIs, and error budgets across apps, workflows, events, and data pipelinesOversee DevOps practices for CI/CD, Kubernetes, IaC, automation, and cost optimizationEnsure reliable operation of event‐driven and telemetry pipelinesGovern and manage third‐party DevOps and SRE vendors, including SLAs and escalationsDrive operational maturity: postmortems, automation, reliability improvementsPartner with security on secure operations, incident response, and compliance readinessPLATFORMS IN SCOPEApplication Platforms: Kubernetes, containerized, EMS telemetry & controlWorkflow Orchestration: Fleet Manager, Power Automate, cross‐system‐ workflowsEvent & Streaming: Microsoft Event Hub, Event streams, Kafka, RabbitMQData & Telemetry: Microsoft Fabric, Kusto, PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, CassandraCI/CD & Infrastructure: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, Helm, Ansible (Azure & AWS)IAM across Azure and AWSExperience with SalesForce, Snowflake will be a preferred plusTECHNICAL STRENGTHSKubernetes and container platforms in productionAzure (required), AWSEvent streaming and messaging systemsData pipelines and telemetry platformsPower pages, Power AutomateCI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and automationObservability and incident troubleshooting at scaleOPERATIONAL EXPECTATIONSEscalation management for on call and major incidentsWillingness to work off‐hours when requiredComfortable making high‐impact decisions under pressureREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS15+ years in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or Production Operations5+ years leading globally distributed engineering teamsProven ownership of 24x7, mission critical production platformsStrong experience managing third‐party vendors / managed service providersDeep hands‐on experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and event‐driven systemsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSSolar Industry experience (Renewable)Not requirements but good to have (optional)PHYSICAL, MENTAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDSMobility: Standing 20%, Sitting 70%, Walking 10%Strength: Pulling up to 10 pounds; Pushing up to 10 pounds; Carrying up to 10 pounds; Lifting up to 10 poundsDexterity: Typing frequently; Handling frequently; Reaching frequentlyAgility: Turning frequently; Twisting frequently; Bending occasionally; Crouching occasionally; Balancing never; Climbing never; Crawling never; Kneeling neverThe salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide.
