Metallurgy Specialist

One of our manufacturing clients is seeking a skilled Metallurgy Specialist to support product development and material analysis at their facility in Fort Wayne, INPay Rate: $85k - $105kShift: DaysResponsibilitiesAnalyze and evaluate metallic materials and product performance Conduct metallurgical testing, failure analysis, and root cause investigations Support product development and material selection processes Review material specifications, heat treatment processes, and quality standards Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve product reliability and manufacturability Interpret metallurgical data and prepare technical reports and documentation Support customer and supplier quality investigations related to material performance Ensure compliance with industry standards, specifications, and safety regulations QualificationsBachelor s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field 3+ years of experience in metallurgy, materials engineering, or manufacturing environment Strong knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, heat treatment, and material properties Experience with metallurgical testing methods and failure analysis techniques Experience in automotive, aerospace, foundry, forging, or heavy manufacturing industries Familiarity with microscopy, hardness testing, and laboratory equipment Knowledge of ISO, ASTM, or other material standards
