The IT Storefront Specialist is an entry-level role responsible for providing front-line IT support and administrative assistance for NMCI users. This position supports day-to-day operational activities by issuing equipment, tracking inventory and tasks, documenting work performed, and assisting customers and team members with basic hardware and software needs.This role is ideal for individuals beginning a career in IT support who are looking to gain hands-on experience in an enterprise environment. This role is full-time, and requires 5 days a week on-site, in Patuxent River, MD.Essential Duties & Responsibilities: NMCI Computer Deployment Support new computer distribution to end users  Assist with the exchange of problematic computers when applicable  Support computer turn-in and equipment collection for exiting employeesPeripheral DistributionIssue standard IT peripherals including headsets, microphones, cameras, keyboards, and mice  Track issued equipment and maintain accurate records  New Employee Check-In SupportAssist with issuing required equipment for new hires, including computers and peripherals  Help verify that new user accounts and systems are functional on day one  Technology Refresh SupportAssist with NMCI laptop and desktop refresh efforts for users  Provide basic customer guidance during the technology refresh process  Ensure users understand how to operate newly issued equipmentRequired Skills & Experience:Clearance Required: Must be able to obtain a Secret clearanceActive clearance preferred US Citizenship required for work on DoD contract1 year of customer service experience  Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software concepts  Familiarity with Microsoft tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams  Attention to detail and ability to accurately document work performed  Ability to work effectively as part of a team  Strong written and verbal communication skills  Willingness to learn, take direction, and assist with tasks as needed Application Deadline:  4/27/2026#cjpost  The SMX salary determination process takes into account a number of factors, including but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories, relevant prior work experience, specific skills, education and certifications.
