Financial Reporting Accountant

A financial services company in Toccoa, GA is seeking an experienced and analytical candidate for a Financial and Regulatory Analyst. The ideal candidate will have experience with SEC filings and knowledge of tax filing compliance.Responsibilities:Assist in preparation of annual and quarter-end SEC filingsPrepare state regulatory filings for SEC Director reviewCompile and validate data for regulatory reporting, identifying and resolving discrepanciesReconcile data between general ledger and regulatory reporting dataMonitor regulatory filing deadlines and ensure adherenceEstablish and maintain internal control safeguardsMonitor and report changes in regulatory reporting requirementsAssist with the preparation of audit requestsDocument and maintain procedures for reporting and compliance related activitiesServe as Primary Liaison for 1FFC Tax FilingsMaintain current list of all tax filingsCoordinate tax preparation request lists in coordination with external tax expertsAssist with the preparation of various tax schedules for local, State, and Federal agencies to ensure timely submissionMaintain organized documentation to support tax filings and respond to regulatory and/or audit requestsIdentify opportunities for process improvements to enhance tax reporting efficiency and complianceQualifications:Bachelors degree in finance, business, or accounting2 – 5 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or auditPrior experience with SEC filing preferredExperience with financial statements and tax preparationAdvanced Microsoft Excel experienceExperience with Sage Intacct a plusStrong written and verbal communication skillsCompensation and Benefits:$60,000 - $65,000Annual BonusMedical, Dental, Vision401(k)PTOHybrid work schedule
