Location:Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek Fort Story, Virginia Beach (onsite only)TypeFull-time Salaried ExemptSalaryCommensurate with experience, training, and education ($80,000 - $110,000+)This opening is a contractor position supporting the US Navys Shipboard Electronic Systems Evaluation Facility (SESEF), which is part of the Naval Sea Systems Command (Navsea). SESEFs mission is to provide electromagnetic test and evaluation services to afloat and shore commands for the development of new and upgraded systems, to validate system performance following new construction and overhaul, and to provide real-time assessments of materiel readiness in an operational environment.We have several open-water test sites around the world, but this position is for our onsite operations at our Virginia Beach location. Our lead test facility provides essential services to the US Navy, Coast Guard, and Military Sealift Command activities as well as allied foreign navies. The overall mission for this position is to provide the US Navy and DoD engineering teams with a dependable and technically capable source for real-time comparative signal generation and analysis in an operational environment.Specific objectives of the SESEF Program include design, integration, installation, and testing of numerous shipboard warfare systems via over-the-air electromagnetic testing, including Antenna Radiation Patterns, Communication systems, Data links, Electronic Warfare, Radio Direction Finding systems, and radars. Our program supports the Fleet forces at numerous US/international homeports as well as mobile test platforms to support shipyard installations and Coast Guard units at various locations.We are actively looking for an experienced (mid-level / senior) electronic / RF engineer to expand our engineering resources.Required Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a US government security clearance. Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) college or university. Five (5) or more years of experience in electronics, RF engineering, communication systems, digital signal processing. Understanding of RF test equipment (Signal analyzers, generators, oscilloscopes, RF power meters, etc.) Experience installing or maintaining waveguide, low-loss coax cables, and antennas. Exposure to design, repair, and analysis of electronic systems. Exposure to C++ and Java software development. Able to travel periodically to other test facilities across the US and overseas. Able to obtain a US Passport.Responsibilities RF/Microwave/Communication system design/development. Conduct test, evaluation, and data analysis of Communications, Electronic Warfare, Radar, SIGINT, and other electronic systems. Aid in the design, test and evaluation, integration, and production of new RF systems (cradle to grave development). Organize and conduct field surveys for testing instrumentation, equipment installations, technical surveillance, audits, and assessments. Develop sustainment plans and test procedures to incorporate into new or current user manuals.
