We seek outstanding candidates with demonstrated expertise in this research area.We are particularly interested in candidates whose research focuses on advanced manufacturing of materials with broad applications. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: (1) Energy-related materials and devices, (2) Biomaterials and bio-mimetic materials, (3) Electronic and functional materials, and (4) A.I.-assisted materials design and manufacturing. The appointment begins in August 2026.Villanova is a Carnegie-classified doctoral university. From its founding in 1842 to its position today as a nationally recognized leading university, Villanova University has forged a path of academic excellence. The University is in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, home to a large concentration of universities, industries, and government labs.The Mechanical Engineering department has 24 full-time faculty members, more than 300 undergraduate students, and over 125 graduate students, including 50 Ph.D. students. The department is home to several research centers, including the NSF I/UCRC in Energy-Smart Electronic Systems and the Villanova Center for Analytics of Dynamic Systems.
