Junior DevOps Engineer

Our engineers, designers, and strategists cut through complexity to create intuitive products and services that equip federal agencies with solutions to courageously transform today for a better tomorrow.Essential Responsibilities:Designing, developing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for developmentDeveloping, configuring, and managing multiple environments (development, testing, UAT, staging, production) and ensuring metadata deployments are synchronized and consistentConfiguring quality gates including code reviews, test execution, code quality checks, and code security scans within the CI/CD pipelinePromoting and applying an automation-first approach to reduce manual configurations within the platform by writing custom scripts, configuring robotic process automation, etc.Managing releases in coordination with development, QA and business teamsImplement strategies for quick data and metadata restoration in case of deployment failures or other issuesLeading backup and restore strategies, including scheduling data backups and maintaining restoration runbooksLeading continuous improvements and enhancements to the CI/CD pipeline and team development workflows to evolve best practicesSetting up monitoring and alerting on deployments to detect and address issuesDocumenting DevOps code promotion, back promotion, best practices, and environmentsProviding technical support, troubleshooting, and training to the development team on continuous integration and continuous deployment best practicesImplementing observability tools within the platform to gain insights into system performance, reliability, and utilization to proactively identify potential issuesConfiguring alerts on systems issues and leading incident response in collaboration with development teamsConfiguring security tools and permission sets to enforce zero-trust security strategies and least-privilege access controlsStrong proven analytical ability and ability to solve problems independentlyRequirementsRequired Qualifications:All candidates must pass public trust clearance through the U.S. Federal Government. This requires candidates to either be U.S. citizens or pass clearance through the Foreign National Government System which will require that candidates have lived within the United States for at least 3 out of the previous 5 years, have a valid and non-expired passport from their country of birth and appropriate VISA/work permit documentation.A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline. OR In lieu of a degree, 4 years of general information technology experience and at least two years of specialized experience may be substituted.2+ years of DevSecOps experience with cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, release management, security tools, managing multiple applications and environments (e.g. development, testing, UAT, staging, production).Experience with monitoring and observability tools, log aggregation, and security tools within the PlatformExperience with Data Deploy and Data LoaderKnowledgeable platform capabilities, governor limits, Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components, APIs, and declarative development toolsKnowledgeable of testing frameworks and best practices for automated testingKnowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools including Terraform, AWS CloudFormation and configuration management tools such as AnsibleFamiliarity with AWS Cloud is a plusDesired Qualifications:DevSecOps Fundamentals I and Fundamentals IICertified AdministratorWork EnvironmenteSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by manager.Occasional travel for training and project meetings.
