Unit Operator

Job SummaryA Unit Operator will be a member of the HTI operations department, be placed on one of HIT's shift groups and report directly to an operations manager. As a unit operator the main requirements will be to learn and develop the skills to be promoted to senior unit operator.JOB DUTIES/ResponsibilitiesKnowledge and experience in all operations duties largely consisting of maintaining operations of HTI's Equipment.Computer skills and ability to interface with HTI's DCS to control operating units.Ability to work safely, participate in safety programs, and utilize PPE as requiredDemonstrate a good performance record of on time and no unexcused absencesConform to good housekeeping practices for all job assignmentsBe available for reasonable amounts of overtimeRespond to emergency callsOvertime opportunities are available for this position due to the rotating shift schedule and operational requirements.Performs other duties as assigned. EducationHigh School Diploma or equivalent certificate.Boiler Operator License required.Work Experience5+ years' experience in operator activities; hot sample taking, insulating vessels, cleaning flushing and reassembling of vessels and miscellaneousAbility to assess equipment for problems and understand solutions for fixing once demonstrated. Required SKILLS/ABILITIES:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently.QHSE REQUIREMENTSQuality:Take responsibility for the sustainability of Axens and ensuring quality performanceReport any and all quality related issues or non-conformities to your managerMaintain awareness, proactively participate and support all Axens policies for quality managementAssist in the continual improvement of an effective Integrated Management System complying with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015Assist in achieving Site, Department, Regional and Global Quality Management Program goals and objectives.
