Feedmill Technician (Clay Center, NE)The U.S. Meat Animal Research Center (USMARC) is a 34,000-acre facility located near Clay Center, NE. The work performed at USMARC supports research that is focused on solving high priority problems for the U.S. beef cattle, sheep, and swine industries. As a Feedmill Technician, you will:
Feedmill and grain handling system operator.
Mix and deliver bulk feed rations for livestock.
Operate and maintain hay grinder.
Operate and maintain all equipment and facilities associated with feedmill and grain handling systems.
Monitors feed and grain condition.
Maintains accurate inventory and use records for grain and ration additives.
This position requires some evening and weekend hours and work in inclement weather. Due to the size of the facility, a valid driver's license is required to travel between sites. Within the UNL system, this position is categorized as an Ag Research Technician I.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent plus one (1) year of experience in agriculture or related field. Additional years of completed relevant education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge of farm machinery and equipment operation required.
Valid driver's license with ability to meet university driver eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience operating and maintaining feed mill or grain handling systems.
Physical Required: Yes
Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required. Subject to DOT approved pre-employment & random testing for alcohol and controlled substances.
Criminal History Background Check Required: Yes
Posted Salary: $18.00/hr minimum
