Join our team and grow your career in a hospital where everyday excellence meets or exceeds expectations.Job SummaryClinical Support personnel are responsible for meeting the needs of internal and external Clinic patients and customers and supporting the Clinics by providing a variety of direct patient care services including planning, implementing and evaluating direct patient care, assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, supervising appropriate recording and retention of all medical records, guiding patients via education and communication, maintaining optimal patient flow, and administering medications. This individual performs in accordance with hospital standards and policies. Performs routine clinical and administrative duties in support of assigned area or office. Operates under direct supervision.Essential FunctionsImplements pre-visit planning prior to the patient appointments to be prepared to address their healthcare needs at the time of the visit. Obtains reports and information necessary for complete care of the patient.Under the supervision of physician or nurse, accurately prepares the patient including patient assessment, taking and accurately recording vital signs, and preparing all forms required for patient care. Also, screens patient for safety, psychosocial needs, and health related topics.Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection. Runs clinical laboratory equipment in accordance with clinic and vendor policies and procedures including temperature monitors and quality control. Performs phlebotomy and related laboratory procedures (i.e., throat swabs, UCG, TB skin test, FOB, EKG and others as assigned). Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition. Documents patientcare given.Under the supervision of the provider, administers vaccinations and other medications.Completes medication refills requests under the provider’s directionCommunicates with clinic RN’s and Providers regarding status of patients and assists with patient care on a daily basis. Demonstrates immediate intervention in critical situations.Assists with telephone triage under the direction of providers.Under supervision of a provider, assists with patient activities such as transporting patients, providing supplies, opening sterile items, and administering medications/immunizations using aseptic techniques, ear lavages, cast removals, tympanogram, nebulizer treatments, vision checks, peak flows and assists providers in room during procedures.Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, laundry, and troubleshooting. Receives, inspects, and stocks supplies timely. Maintains examination areas. Identifies malfunctioning equipment and implements corrective measures.Performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, medical record activities, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration. Completes prior authorizations in accordance with insurer/third party payer requirements.
