GIS SupportBrooklyn, NY (Hybrid)Job SummaryThe QA/QC Support Specialist supports the modernization of GIS mapping systems by validating and ensuring the accuracy of data migrated from legacy platforms. This role focuses on quality assurance and quality control of electric and gas mapping data, including spatial analysis, connectivity validation, and attribute verification. The specialist also leads testing efforts, supports system implementation, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure GIS solutions meet technical and user requirements.Job ResponsibilitiesPerform data validation using queries and spatial analysis to ensure accuracy of migrated GIS dataReview land base geometry, structure connectivity, and cable network integrityVerify attribute data for linear and point features related to electric and gas systemsUpdate and enhance map symbology to improve visualization and usabilityLead testing activities, including factory acceptance, system acceptance, and user acceptance testingReview and provide feedback on test plans, scripts, and related documentationMaintain testing documentation and track execution using tools such as Azure DevOpsCollaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve data and system issuesAdvocate for end users by ensuring solutions meet functional and usability expectationsSupport additional GIS and mapping-related projects as neededDevelop knowledge of mapping systems, processes, and utility infrastructure documentationJob RequirementsBachelor’s degree requiredMinimum of 2 years of experience with GIS tools, including ESRI ArcMapStrong knowledge of GIS concepts, including MXD development, spatial queries, and spatial analysisExperience working in a utility or infrastructure environment preferredFamiliarity with testing tools such as Azure DevOps or similar platformsProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionHigh attention to detail, initiative, and accountabilityAbility to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environmentWork ExperienceExperience with GIS data validation, QA/QC processes, or mapping systems requiredExperience supporting system testing and data quality initiatives preferredExperience in electric and gas utility mapping environments preferred
