Founded on the principle of providing excellence in orthopedics, SBO has been serving the needs of the northern half of Indiana and southern Michigan since 1947 and functions as the Orthopaedic Surgeons for The University of Notre Dame Athletics Department since 1949. Services include joint replacement, sports medicine, upper and lower extremity surgery, pain management, diagnostic imaging, physical and occupational therapy. Our offerings include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k plan with company match, paid time off, life and disability insurance, and more.Responsibilities include:Take inbound calls from patients and make outbound calls to patientsProvide one call resolution to patient inquiries whenever possible and perform timely follow up on inquiries requiring escalation or additional researchFollow up on all patient voicemails within 24 hoursProvide patient education regarding how to understand their Explanation of Benefits (EOB)Take payments from patientsProvide requested documentation and recordsConsistently achieve defined metricsRead and understand contracts with insurance companiesReview and determine if an adjustment is required on an accountReview and determine if a refund is required on an accountVerify insuranceProvide patient estimatesVerify and update demographic informationResearch and locate missing paymentsReview clinical information to determine if a coding review is requiredQualifications include:H/S diploma or equivalentA minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office, customer service or call center roleExperience with revenue cycle is helpful and preferredAbility to read, analyze and interpret financial reports, and information in patient accountsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceMicrosoft Office Suite including Word and Outlook.Excel including the ability to sort and filter data.Must be able to type a minimum of 45 wpm.Must have excellent phone and customer service skillsMust be very organized, be detail oriented, solve problems and multitaskUSD $17.00/Hr.
