Position: Purchasing Manager/ Procurement ConsultantDuration: 12 monthsLocation: Minnesota (Remote)Descriptions Of SpecificationsHigh school diploma or GED AND nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in contract administration to include overseeing the development and negotiation of contracts and bid specifications; managing bid openings; awarding and executing contracts.Note: Highest completed degree in the following majors: Business, Finance, Public Administration, or a closely related field will count towards the minimum nine (9) years of required work experience.EducationAssociate's degree counts as two years of experienceBachelor's degree or higher counts as four years of experienceSkills & QualificationsRelevant government purchasing and contracting certifications such as an UPPCC Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) or Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), or NIGP-CPP are a plus.Contract preparation and administration in ITKnowledge of principles, practices, processes and laws related to general liability in the State of MN;Federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining competitive procurement practices.Ability to utilize Microsoft Word and Excel, Electronic Calendar and InternetRequires skill and persuasion in dealing with others, both inside and outside of the department.Interactions with others generally require influencing, instructing and negotiating with individuals to gain their understanding, cooperation and action.Skilled in time managementSkilled in verbal and written communication to diverse audiencesStrong interpersonal skills
