Risk and Governance Manager ( Investments & Capital Markets )

Location: Falls Church, VAEmployment Type: Full-Time, PermanentJob Overview:We are seeking a Risk and Governance Manager to oversee technology-related risk processes within Investments & Capital Markets. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders and risk subject matter experts to identify and mitigate risks, enhance risk management frameworks, and strengthen the control environment. While this is an individual contributor role, you will collaborate with the director to coach and develop the team.Key Responsibilities:Identify technology process risks and develop/document SOX and non-SOX controlsConduct Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) and support audit and 2nd Line of Defense (2LOD) activities.Track remediation actions, perform root cause analysis, and provide insights to senior managementGenerate periodic risk and compliance reports, refining technical risk procedures as needed.Qualifications:5-10 years of experience in risk management, governance, audit, or related disciplinesStrong ability to assess technology risks and collaborate with business owners on remediation strategies.Experience in financial services or product development is a plus (willingness to learn is key!).Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.Hands-on experience with SOX, RCSA, and technical governance frameworksPreferred Certifications: CIA, CISA, CISSP, PMP, CISM, CRISC.Keys to Success:Proactive & Analytical: Think creatively to identify risks and solutions.Strong Communicator: Detail-oriented with the ability to present findings effectively.Self-Starter & Collaborator: Take initiative while working effectively with teams.Passion for Learning: Interest in Capital Markets and emerging technologiesIf you're looking for an opportunity to drive risk governance and make a meaningful impact, apply today!
