ULTX offers competitive compensation and benefits, as well as an opportunity to be a part of a top-notch team where enthusiasm, hard work, expertise, growth, and progressive thinking are all valued. Primary Job FunctionsPrimary responsibilities and/or essential functions include, but are not limited to:Operates locomotive to transport material and spot rail cars utilizing instructions from a switch list. Regularly operates locomotive in a congested area and must use considerable caution to prevent damage to rail cars or accidents to employees. Operates switches and directs flow of cars in rail yard. Maintains area in a neat and orderly manner and reports work hazards. Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent or the ability to pass a Combined Basic Skills Assessment Test Valid Driver's License with no more than three moving violations in the past four yearsDemonstrated mechanical aptitudeAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamAbility to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervisionAbility to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and assembly documentsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.Flexibility to work any shift, including overtime, as permitted by the union contractDependable attendance and reliabilityPreferred QualificationsHeavy equipment operationExperience in an Industrial Repair or Manufacturing environment.Rail industry experienceEnvironmental & Working ConditionsWork is performed in an industrial railcar repair environment involves regular exposure to challenging physically demanding and environmental conditions.Duties may be performed outdoors in varying weather conditionsExposure to dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, heat, and noise is commonJob requires moderate to heavy physical exertion, including lifting, climbing, working at heights, and working in confined spacesManual dexterity and physical coordination required for tool and equipment operationPotential exposure to hazardous materials due to leaks or spillsMust comply with all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocolsVision correctable to 20/30 for inspection tasksOn-site work arrangement: 5 days a week, with overtime as required.Why Join Our Team?
