Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Office Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office by providing administrative support, assisting customers, and facilitating effective communication. This position requires strong customer service skills and the ability to handle various office tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing excellent customer service and support addressing inquiries and directing them to the appropriate personnel
Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and assist with customer questions about plants, products, and events.
Process transactions at the cash register and utilizes POS software accurately and efficiently.
Manage office files and documents, ensuring they are organized and easily accessible.
Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, maintaining up-to-date records including inventory management and customer information updates
Maintain a clean and welcoming office environment.
Proofread documents for accuracy and clarity before distribution.
Support Office Manager in activities, including ordering supplies and maintaining inventory levels.
Handle various administrative tasks as assigned to ensure the efficient functioning of the office.
Maintain a clean and welcoming office environment.
Adapt to changing workloads and tasks, as daily responsibilities may vary.
Assists Gardens staff with other duties, as assigned by Office Manager
Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Experience
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Previous experience in customer service or office administration is a plus.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with POS software is a plus.
Excellent proofreading skills with attention to detail is a plus.
Passion for plants and gardening is desirable.
Bilingual candidates with Spanish language proficiency will be considered an asset.
