Maintenance Assistant

BlueBonnet Rehab at Ennis - Position Summary:The Maintenance Assistant performs semi-skilled work for and with the Facilities Maintenance Director in the maintenance and repairs of the buildings components, systems and equipment and ancillary areas.Occupational Skills:· Good organizational skills· Good communication skills· Ability to follow oral and written instructions· Ability to exercise good judgement and tact in dealing with vendors, residents, resident families and staff members· Ability to use common hand tools· Minimal plumbing knowledge· Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, technical materials and instruction guides· Walking, standing, reaching, stooping, squatting, turning, pivoting and bending as needed· Ability to lift and carry items up to 50lbs· Ability to work independently under general supervisionEducation, Training and Experience Requirements:· Highschool or General Education Diploma (GED)· Previous experience in Maintenance or similar field preferredEssential Job Duties:· Checks that all building lights are functioning· Assist in installing, repairing and maintaining water-processing equipment· Gain knowledge of Safety Regulations· Assist in monitoring, maintaining and reporting of fire suppression system· Keeping maintenance ship organized· Assists in basic repairs of facility including painting, installing/replacing light bulbs, plumbing, and basic carpentry.· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and managers as needed· Attend mandatory in-service meetingsBenefits:Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance Benefits available for Full Time Employees.
