Senior Accountant

As our Senior Accountant, you’ll play a key role in driving the financial strategy and stability that fuels our growth. Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development and management of the company's annual budget and financial forecasts. Monitor budget performance and provide recommendations for cost optimization.Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, including variance analysis, cost control, and profitability assessments. Identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement.General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and resolve discrepancies. Perform month-end and year-end closing procedures.Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit accurate and timely tax returns, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations. Stay up-to-date with tax law changes and advise on tax planning strategies.Audit Support: Assist in the coordination of financial audits by external auditors. Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries.Financial Systems: Manage and optimize financial systems and accounting software, ensuring data accuracy and efficient workflow.Financial Policy and Procedure Development: Develop, implement, and enforce financial policies and procedures to ensure internal controls and compliance.Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, procurement, and senior management, to provide financial insights and support decision-making.Assist as necessary with payroll.Other duties as assigned.Experience/Educational Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is a plus.Proven experience as an accountant, with a minimum of 1 years in a senior accounting role and 3 years of total accounting experience.Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Highly organized and able to meet deadlines.
