Analytical Engineer
The Analytical Engineer is responsible for introducing new heat transfer products to our organization by leading their development and improvement. This role requires rigorous application of heat transfer, fluid mechanics, mechanical design, and structural mechanics principles while adhering to manufacturing, testing, and quality best practices. The Analytical Engineer will engage in problem-solving daily and must have a rounded technical skillset with exceptional attention to detail.Duties And ResponsibilitiesSize and conceptually design heat exchangers and heat transfer components to fulfill customer requirements, making reasonable assumptions when necessaryPerform critical thermal and structural analyses of complex aerospace hardware through hand calculations, in-house software, and commercial analysis packagesInterface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure manufacturability and qualityProvide heat exchanger core details to the design and estimating departmentsReview and approve design and test procedure changesLiaise with customer on heat exchanger requirementsCompile and present results in a clear mannerGenerate technical reviews and other engineering documentationSupport proposals and new product initiativesSupport disposition of technical issues which occur during manufacturingSupport customer reviews and inbound requestsRequired Skills And AbilitiesExpertise in heat and mass transfer, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and structural mechanicsExpertise in 3D modeling and CAD softwareExpertise in design principles, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniquesKnowledge of commercial CFD and FEA software packagesFamiliarity with material properties and selection processHighly motivated self-starterStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detailStrong verbal and written communication skillsCapable of thriving in a fast-paced environmentAbility to pass a background check and 9-panel drug screenDue to the nature of Hughes-Treitler's programs and products, applicants must have the legal right to work in the US and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.Education And ExperienceBachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related fieldMaster’s degree preferred7+ years of experience in a similar rolePhysical RequirementsAbility to work for prolonged periods on a computer or in a lab environmentAbility to move equipment up to 25 poundsCompensationEmployee Type: SalariedCurrency: USDSalary Minimum: 110,000Salary Maximum: 140,000Incentive: NoDisclaimer: Where a specific pay range is noted, it is a good faith estimate at the time of this posting.
