Tool Room Attendant Job Category: Service Requisition Number: TOOLR002290 Posted: May 11, 2026 Full-Time Location: Casper, WY 82604, USA Description Essential Duties/ResponsibilitiesMaintain and control inventory of tools. Pull and return tooling for mechanics. Clean, repair or replace tooling as necessary. Check calibration on torque wrenches, multi-meter, photo tach hydraulic gauges, thermistor group, heat guns, multi-meters, battery load testers on semi-annual schedule or as needed. Maintain adequate coverall inventory-replace damaged ones-prepare for shipment. Maintain adequate oil supply, reorder when necessary. Fill and ship oil containers to other stores as necessary. Order and maintain inventory for service supply items. Assist mechanics in procuring outside parts for repair. Monitor and maintain soap supplies, and diesel fuel. Clean and Maintain the Marc Parts Washers. Maintain contamination control documentation and perform required sampling and maintenance to specified systems. Monitor, maintain and operate filter crusher. Annual inspections of technician fall protection, annual Fire Extinguisher exchange and yearly certification for field service personal/shop. Monitor and maintain refrigerant inventory and log. Other Duties/ResponsibilitiesTo maintain housekeeping of tool room area. Read appropriate literature to insure all tools/information are current. Update manuals as required. Work with a spirit of cooperation and teamwork. Job QualificationsKnowledge, Skill and AbilityKnowledge of hand, air and electric tool repairs. An understanding of cost/value relationships when procuring replacement or new tooling, ability to keep and maintain an inventory of tooling. Ability to keep a scheduled calibration and check calendar. Communication skills over the telephone and basic computer skills are required. Education or Formal TrainingHigh school graduate or equivalent. ExperienceBackground in maintenance, tooling and parts procurement. Previous experience working with heavy equipment/maintenance is preferred. Material and Equipment Directly UsedA tool room person will use basic hand tools, multi-meters, microfiche reader, telephone, calculator, fax machine, pickup and computer terminal. Working Environment/Physical ActivitiesIn a standard 8 hour shift a worker must: Walk and/or stand 8 hours on concrete floor in shop that maybe very warm or cold. Exposed to all types of paints, thinners and additives 50 lb. weight lifting restriction. Use hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation. Use feet frequently in repetitive movement. Frequently bend, squat and climb. Be willing to be exposed to grease, oil, dirt and steam (hot and cold). Work overtime as required. Must be able to communicate clearly, precisely and logically at all levels.
