Turnaround Cost Engineer / Cost Controller - Junior
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Turnaround Cost Engineer / Cost Controller to support major plant turnaround activities within a global manufacturing environment. This role is critical to establishing and controlling the turnaround cost baseline, ensuring accurate forecasting, vendor cost tracking, and executive-level reporting throughout execution.Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish and manage the turnaround cost baseline by integrating cost estimates, workhours, and schedulesTrack and forecast turnaround costs, accruals, and actuals throughout executionDevelop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) aligned with turnaround strategyLead and validate MRP and vendor cost reporting for accurate forecastingReview field change orders, deviations, and execution changes and reflect them accurately in cost systemsInterface with plant leadership, steering teams, and cost controllersSupport monthly cost reporting and present cost updates during steering meetingsEnsure compliance with global turnaround cost management processes and best practicesRequired Experience & QualificationsAssociate or Bachelor's degree with 3+ years of hands-on turnaround / shutdown cost management experience OR5+ years of direct experience in turnaround cost control within industrial or plant environmentsStrong experience with SAP (GR55, accruals, actuals) and cost tracking toolsBackground in chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, refining, power, or heavy manufacturingProven ability to work onsite during active turnaround executionPreferredExperience supporting global turnaround methodologiesStrong Excel and cost reporting skillsComfortable working in fast-paced, high-accountability environments.
