Temporary Steamfitter - Plumber Commercial Steam and Boiler Makers

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Temporary Steamfitter - Plumber specializing in commercial steam systems and boiler manufacturing. This energetic role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing complex piping systems, boilers, and related equipment in commercial settings. As a vital member of our construction and maintenance team, you will bring your expertise in pipe fitting, welding, and mechanical systems to ensure efficient operation and safety compliance. Duties Operates maintains and repairs equipment and facilities such as high, medium and low-pressure steam piping systems and boilers at outlying properties; domestic hot and cold-water systems; pure water systems (deionized and distilled); storm, sanitary and acid waste sewer systems; natural and other gas systems; fire protection systems and swimming pool systems; and repairs, replaces and installs piping systems; installs pipe insulation. Install, assemble, and maintain commercial steam piping systems, boilers, and related plumbing infrastructure according to blueprints, schematics, and ASME codes & standards. Perform welding tasks including MIG, FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), TIG welding, and welding to join pipes and components securely. Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to guide installation and repair work. Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, pipe threading machines, tube bending equipment, and rigging gear to accurately execute tasks. Conduct soldering and assembly of piping components ensuring leak-proof connections. Perform routine maintenance on existing systems to optimize performance and prevent failures. TYPICAL DUTIES: Operates, maintains, troubleshoots, repairs, rebuilds and installs: steam pressure reducing valves, steam relief valves, steam traps, steam expansion joints, steam valves, steam heat exchangers, radiators, steam convectors, steam humidifiers, steam and condensate piping, condensate and vacuum return pumps and accessories; components of domestic hot and cold water systems and pure water systems, including valves, faucets, flush valves, vacuum breakers, shower facilities and the like; storm, sanitary and acid waste systems and equipment including neutralizing equipment, pumps, grease traps, drains, cleaning sewers with high pressure equipment, sinks, toilets, urinals and the like; and natural and other gas systems and equipment, including regulators, valves and the like. Installs piping from chilled water lines to air conditioning units and installs piping from steam lines to heating units. Cleans and maintains hot water tanks. Installs filtration and water treatment equipment. Repairs, replaces, rebuilds and installs steam, hot water, pure water and chilled water coils. Cuts, bends reams, threads, solders, silver solders, brazes welds, fuses, beads, leads, etc., the following piping materials: metal, glass, plastic and the like. Experience Proven experience working as a steamfitter or plumber in commercial construction or manufacturing environments. Demonstrated proficiency in MIG welding, FCAW, TIG welding, soldering, and welding techniques. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, mechanical systems, HVAC principles, pipeline installation, and maintenance practices. Familiarity with pipe threading machines, tube bending tools, calipers, power tools, hand tools, and rigging equipment. Ability to read technical drawings accurately and apply basic math skills for measurements and calculations. Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour Work Location: In person
