Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a Junior Software Developer to support a customer in Colorado Springs, CO, supporting the Space Weather Analysis Forecasting Service (SWAFS) GovCloud solution. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career developer to contribute to a mission-critical government program in a collaborative Agile environment. What you'll do:Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle: definition, design, implementation, unit testing, and code deploymentWrite and maintain application code primarily in Java; exposure to JavaScript, Python, C#, or C++ is a plusDevelop and execute unit tests to ensure quality of releasable softwareParticipate in peer code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code qualityContribute to the SaFE/Agile backlog under the guidance of senior developers and the assigned SCRUM MasterCollaborate with developers, testers, platform engineers, and software architects to produce and maintain codeSupport REST data/service integrations feeding into SaaS applicationsAssist in documenting processes, code, and technical decisions clearly and conciselyParticipate in usability reviews and contribute to improvements in software designFollow established design guidelines, best practices, and coding standards Qualifications Required QualificationsAssociate's degree and 2+ years of relevant software development experience; OR Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; OR 4+ years of relevant software development experience in lieu of a degree.This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Top-Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI. Target Salary Range $51,000 - $82,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
