Electrical Engineer - Medical Device

Job Title: Electrical EngineerDuration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)Locations: Irvine, CA OverviewWe are seeking Electrical Engineers (Level II or III) to support a large-scale medical device integration initiative. This role focuses on integrating and remediating electrical designs from acquired legacy products to align with internal engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and design control processes.The position is heavily centered on design remediation, compliance alignment, verification support, and technical documentation, with strong cross-functional collaboration across engineering, quality, and supplier teams. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform gap analysis between acquired product designs and internal engineering standards, SOPs, and design controlsSupport electrical design remediation and product design refinement activitiesContribute to test method development, validation, and execution support for design verificationParticipate in FMEA, hazard analysis, and risk management activitiesEvaluate feasibility and robustness of alternative engineering solutions and design changesPrepare and maintain clear, traceable engineering documentation to support integration and regulatory complianceCollaborate with suppliers and external partners to align specifications, testing protocols, and quality standardsSupport design verification and acceptance testing activitiesCommunicate technical progress, risks, and trade-offs to project and engineering leadership Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field (required)4+ years of engineering experience with BS, or 2+ years with MSMedical device industry experienceStrong experience in electrical engineering design documentation and technical problem solvingExperience working with test, verification, or validation activitiesAbility to analyze technical inputs from multiple sources and form recommendationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work onsite full-time in Irvine, CAStrong attention to detail and ability to operate in a regulated engineering environment Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with IEC 60601, IEC 14708, and/or IEC 45502 standardsExperience with design control, risk management, FMEA, and hazard analysisHands-on experience with analog and digital circuit designExperience with Altium (schematic capture / PCB design)Experience with LTspice or similar simulation toolsExposure to RF design and testingExperience with test fixture design and implementationStrong hands-on electronics troubleshooting experienceExperience supporting design verification and acceptance testing
