General Manager (Miami)
Job SummaryAmeriship Parcel Delivery is a medical overnight and courier delivery service operating in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Missouri, Florida, Colorado, Nevada, Georgia, and Illinois. We are the leader in Texas for pharmacy delivery. We are recruiting for a General Manager to work at our Miami/Hialeah, FL office. The ideal candidate will be a hard‑working professional able to undertake logistics, manage the office, and work diligently under pressure.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages daily dispatch and interface of assigned drivers.
Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, training, and coaching new drivers and staff.
Oversee routing, sorting, operations loading and unloading of freight, customer service, and facilities management.
Deliver and pick up packages daily.
Create and update driver notes in Ameriship’s system to ensure accuracy and validity of information related to deliveries, re-attempts, and missed deliveries.
Drive consistent operational performance with a focus on service and cost.
Monitor misdeliveries and develop avoidance strategies for the office.
Manage and organize general office duties including mailing, supplies, and errands.
Forecast workload for 2–3 days out.
Lead and manage hourly personnel and contractors.
Manage resources to cover staff absence & workload capabilities.
Responsible for managing disciplinary issues in line with company policies.
Schedule and direct the work activity for drivers that utilize the best cost option to maximize profitability.
Maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency of data in the system.
Create and assign work schedules. Maintain proper staffing to support operations based on freight volumes.
Qualifications
Must have a dependable vehicle to deliver packages and make pickups.
Must have previous management experience.
Availability required for evening pickups.
Be willing to adapt to new situations.
Capable of using computers for routing and payroll purposes.
Familiar with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
1–3 years of experience in material flow, warehouse/logistics, transportation management, or materials handling.
Ability to interact with logistics team and vendors.
Knowledge of shipping and receiving.
Self‑motivated and resourceful.
Able to prioritize and multi‑task.
Effective problem solver.
Self‑directed and able to meet deadlines.
Comfortable and knowledgeable with technology and computers.
Education and Experience
Management: 2–3 years (Preferred)
Logistics: 2–3 years (Preferred)

Compensation
Full‑time position. Salary: $57,200 per year ($1,100 per week).
