Find your future with us.Boeing is currently seeking a C-17 Associate Systems Engineer to support Boeing Global Services in Long Beach, CA. As a C-17 Airworthiness Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the C-17 airplane programs, focusing on services and modernization efforts. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure airworthiness as we implement design changes across the fleet.A successful candidate will possess a robust foundation in engineering principles and a deep understanding of certification processes. They will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration within a diverse engineering team. Additionally, the candidate will exhibit a proactive mindset, taking initiative to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects efficiently.Position Responsibilities:Airworthiness Assessment: Evaluate project plans for potential airworthiness impacts and assess project development and test artifacts for their relevance to airworthiness criteriaRequirements Development and Management: Develop, manage, and maintain airworthiness requirements throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards and customer needsCollaboration: Work closely with internal and external customers to ensure compliance with airworthiness criteria and collaborate with Design Engineers to produce necessary artifacts and data that meet regulatory standardsCompliance Packages: Create and submit comprehensive airworthiness compliance packagesMethodology Familiarity: Demonstrate familiarity with airworthiness methodologies and criteria, with a preference for MIL-STD 516CSystems Engineering Application: Apply Systems Engineering principles, tools, and techniques to the design, technical documentation, testing, and certification of aircraftSystems Thinking: Understand the broader context and interrelationships within the system, recognizing how changes in one area can impact others.
