Senior Accountant
Position SummaryThis Senior Accountant role is a full-time position responsible for managing daily accounting operations, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for the company’s fund. The role serves as a key liaison between the fund and its third-party servicing partner, facilitating clear communication and timely resolution of all fund-related accounting matters.The ideal candidate is an experienced and driven accounting professional with a strong background in real estate lending and fund accounting, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.The company’s primary business involves the acquisition of residential and commercial tax lien transfers secured by real property. FGMS is owned by Ovation Tax Lien Fund, and its assets are originated and serviced by Mack Brooks, LLC.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & ClosePrepare monthly financial statements including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Perform month-end close processes, including journal entries and reconciliations Complete balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of general ledger activity Loan & Fund AccountingRecord and reconcile commercial real estate loan transactions, including interest income, expenses, and fees Perform interest accruals and premium amortization Account for debt activity including borrowings, draws, and interest expense Maintain CECL (Allowance for Loan Loss) calculations with appropriate reserves Reconciliations & Cash ManagementReconcile loan servicing data and sub-ledgers to the general ledger Monitor daily cash balances and approve funding transactions (wires/ACH) Perform bank reconciliations and manage cash transfers between systems (e.g., Salesforce and Intacct) Process Accounts Payable including coding and payment of invoices Audit & ComplianceSupport internal and external audits and prepare required documentation Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements Collaboration & CommunicationPartner with Account Executives, Loan Processors, Closers, and Investor Relations on loan pipeline and financial activity Serve as a liaison between servicing partners and internal teams Provide insights and reports to leadership LeadershipMay supervise and mentor junior accounting staff QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in: Commercial real estate lending Fund accounting Banking or financial services
