FLOATING FINANCIAL SERVICES OFFICER/LOAN OFFICER/CREDITSNAP-SAVVYMONEY SPECIALIST MyGeorgia Credit Union currently has an opening for a Floating Financial Services Officer/Loan Officer/CreditSnap-SavvyMoney Specialist located at our Main Office in Gainesville, GA. This position serves as an advisor for new and existing members and a counselor to prospective loan applicants. Processes new memberships, interviews loan applicants, approves, and denies loan applications along with processing necessary paperwork. Cross-sells all credit union products and services. Ensures that all members are served promptly by greeting and helping members while showing the highest level of professionalism and proficiency. Fills in for FSO’s as needed at other branches located throughout NE Georgia. Monitors, distributes, and works applications that are received via online through the CreditSnap/SavvyMoney process. Obtains a thorough working knowledge of CreditSnap/SavvyMoney and serves in an advisor role to FSO’s and other staff. Job Responsibilities Become an expert in the processes of CreditSnap/SavvyMoney to assist other staff with questions and concerns. Greet members to the credit union in a courteous, professional and timely manner. Provide prompt, accurate and efficient member transactions related to opening new accounts along with explaining the benefits of credit union membership. Provide information regarding credit union services or policies, including eligibility guidelines for membership, types of credit union accounts/loans and current dividend & loan rates, etc. to all new and potential members. Open all new accounts to include completion of a membership card, ATM card, check orders, counter checks, and share certificates. Accept initial deposits and perform any initial file maintenance to a member’s account /membership card. Cross-sell products as they specifically pertain to loans. Maintain a working knowledge of all state and federal regulations as well as the credit union’s policies and procedures which apply to all share accounts. Ensure compliance with share drafts rules and regulations. Gather background information on loan applicants by interviewing them and obtaining their credit report. Collect and organize the required documentation and input the information into the loan system to make sure all conditions are satisfied for the purpose of underwriting/approval. Verify debts for any additional debts not listed or paid, calculate debt to income ratios and fund the loan. Obtain applications by phone, fax, e-mail, in person, or via the MyGeorgia website. Determine collateral needs, valuation and payment plans for members applying for credit. Determine eligibility of loan co-maker from co-maker’s application and credit rating. Approve or deny loan applications. When a loan is denied, explain the reasons for denial in a professional and courteous manner. Work with the member to provide recommendations or alternative options for other possible ways to obtain a loan in the future. Verify the accuracy of loan amounts and repayment terms on approved applications before posting the loan. Process the loan documents in a timely manner and professionally disburse the loan proceeds. Implement new loan products and services in accordance with management direction. Cross-sell all other credit union products and services. Help with training new loan staff as directed by the Assistant Lending Manager. Perform other duties as deemed necessary by Management.
