Accounting Manager

Century Group has partnered with a nonprofit organization who is seeking an Accounting Manager. This is a hybrid position located in Oakland. This is a direct hire position. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $90,000 to $95,000 per year.Job Description:Monitor budget and expenses to ensure that the expenditure of grant funds are used as per the grant's objectives and fall within the budgeted levelsExamine supporting documents to establish proper authorization and conformance with agreements, contracts, federal and state regulations and OMCA policyOversee the verification of the accuracy of service bureau prepared W-2s and review year-end adjustmentsManage key components of month end close, including analysis, recording journal entries, statement review and reconciliationReview bank reconciliations prior to CFO's reviewFile and maintain financial reporting reconciliationsKeep current with new labor laws and regulations, research and propose changes based on new laws, compliance, discrepancies and accounting issuesRequirements:Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsAble to communicate with professionals at all levelsAble to communicate complex information to a variety of audiencesExperience:Nonprofit industry experienceREF #46926
