Network Engineer - Field SupportEmployment Type: Contract (with possible extension)Location: Central Florida (Primary office location is Riverview; field travel required)Work Model: Predominantly onsite (typically 3 days/week; may increase to 5 based on operational needs)Position OverviewWe are seeking a Network Engineer - Field Support to provide hands-on network engineering and troubleshooting across multiple industrial and operational sites. This role is focused on physical network infrastructure, onsite deployments, and field-based support, rather than remote-only network administration.The ideal candidate is comfortable working in industrial environments, is highly self-sufficient in the field, and brings strong experience with Cisco networking technologies, firewall platforms, and onsite troubleshooting.Environment & ScopeSupport multiple facilities including industrial plants and operational sitesFacilities vary from clean, modern buildings to harsh industrial and mining environmentsHeavy Cisco-based network environment, including:Cisco switches and routersCisco wireless access pointsCheck Point firewallsPoly video conferencing systemsWork closely with an internal team and a Managed Service Provider (MSP) Key ResponsibilitiesField-Based Network SupportPerform onsite network troubleshooting, maintenance, and hardware replacementConduct structured cabling cleanup, cable management, and labelingReplace aging or failed switches and network hardwareInspect wiring, validate connectivity, and resolve physical-layer issuesConfigure and deploy new network infrastructure to replace legacy equipment Network Engineering & OperationsEngineer, configure, and deploy routers, Layer 2/Layer 3 switches, firewalls, and WLAN infrastructureTroubleshoot complex issues involving routing, switching, wireless, and firewall functionalityPerform post-deployment testing to ensure network availability and performanceMonitor and analyze network performance metrics such as latency, throughput, packet loss, and jitter Wireless & Collaboration SupportReplace and deploy wireless access points, including ceiling-mounted installationsSupport and troubleshoot video conferencing and collaboration systemsAssist onsite users with basic network-related troubleshooting and connectivity issues Documentation, Standards & CollaborationDevelop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational runbooksFollow established architecture standards, security baselines, and change-management processesCollaborate with internal teams, MSP partners, and vendors to resolve issues and deliver projectsCoordinate daily activities and prioritize tasks across multiple sites Required QualificationsEducationAssociate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred (or equivalent experience) Experience5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering or field network supportExperience supporting industrial, manufacturing, or operational environments preferredProven ability to work independently in remote or non-office locations Technical SkillsStronghands-on experience with:Cisco routing and switchingCisco wireless infrastructureCheck Point firewallsWAN, LAN, and WLAN technologiesExperience replacing, deploying, and validating onsite network hardwareFamiliarity with VoIP and video conferencing platformsAbility to perform packet captures, log analysis, and structured troubleshooting Preferred CertificationsCCNACompTIA Network+Dexian stands at the forefront of Talent + Technology solutions with a presence spanning more than 70 locations worldwide and a team exceeding 10,000 professionals.
