1ST ASSISTANT MANAGER

Duties
Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, ensuring smooth shift transitions and operational efficiency
Lead and supervise team members, providing coaching, training, and development to foster a motivated and high-performing workforce
Manage employee orientation, interviewing, onboarding, and scheduling to build a strong team aligned with company goals
Support sales management efforts by implementing merchandising strategies, pricing policies, and promotional campaigns to maximize revenue
Oversee inventory control, stock replenishment, purchasing, and POS (Point of Sale) system operations to maintain accurate stock levels and streamline transactions
Handle customer service issues promptly and professionally, ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for all customers
Assist with payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and store financials to maintain accurate records and budget adherence
Requirements
Proven experience in retail management or assistant management roles with supervising responsibilities
Strong skills in negotiation, sales management, merchandising, and inventory management
Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
Demonstrated expertise in employee recruiting, training & development, and team supervision
Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling procedures, retail math, and store management software
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently through effective time management and organizational skills
Knowledge of retail sales techniques including marketing strategies and promotional planning
Experience with budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and administrative tasks within a grocery or retail setting is preferred
