Kitchen Supervisor

- Full Time. 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Monday - Friday. Occasional weekends. Rotating on-call weekends required. Job Description Supervises supply ordering and inventory. Completes team member scheduling. Performs functions for the Point of Sale (POS) and menu systems. Assists management team and director with supply spending reports. Assists with department safety compliance. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or equivalent. Three years related food service experience required. Job Duties Inputs work schedules, from the executive chef and dining manager, into OnShift. Checks scheduled hours against department budget. Departmental supply ordering for food, disposables, and supplies based on specifications and par stock levels from the executive chef and director. Completes inventory of food and supplies on a quarterly basis. Keeps log of older inventory for use by the executive chef. Supervises the dining stock clerk position. Stocks when clerk is on PTO. Follows standard guidelines for stock rotation, food safety, HACCP, and sanitation. Works with the executive chef with the electronic recipe and menu system for forecasting, cycle menus, production sheets, and supply specifications. Assists with team member orientation. Assists with department safety compliance including sanitation audits, and cleaning assignments. Qualifications Able to read, write and communicate using the English language. Expert with MS Excel. Uses vender order systems and software programs. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS Commercial kitchen environment with temperatures as low as –10 degrees and as high as 100 degrees. Some exposure to steam from boiling and heat from cooking surfaces. Work is generally scheduled between the hours of 6:30 AM and 7:30 PM. Universal staffing, holiday, weekend, inclement weather, and flexible work schedules are required. Must be able to stand for up to eight hours and lift 25 pounds. Some bending at the knees and waist; stooping and crouching required. Some pulling and pushing of loads such as a utility cart loaded with foodstuffs required. Exposure to the sights, sounds and odors of a typical long-term care and health care environment serving senior citizens, some with dementia.
