Microsoft Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced *Systems Engineer* to support a diverse portfolio of client environments spanning Microsoft 365, cloud technologies, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and endpoint management. This role combines project implementation, advanced technical support, infrastructure deployment, and client-facing consulting. The ideal candidate enjoys working across multiple technologies and is comfortable supporting both cloud-based and on-premises environments. This position includes a combination of remote support, onsite client visits, project work, and technical escalation responsibilities. What You'll DoMicrosoft 365 & Cloud Administration * Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 environments. * Support Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) and identity management. * Deploy and administer Microsoft Intune. * Configure and manage Microsoft Defender security solutions. * Support Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive. * Implement Conditional Access policies and security best practices. * Manage user provisioning, deprovisioning, and lifecycle administration. * Resolve Microsoft 365, authentication, and endpoint management issues. Network & Infrastructure Support * Deploy and support network security appliances, including Fortinet firewalls. * Configure VPN connectivity and secure remote access solutions. * Support switching and wireless infrastructure, including UniFi environments. * Manage VLANs, network segmentation, and access controls. * Troubleshoot connectivity, routing, wireless, VPN, and internet-related issues. * Support Windows Server environments and associated services. * Participate in infrastructure refresh and modernization projects. * Assist with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives. Technical Support & Escalations * Act as a Tier 2/Tier 3 escalation resource. * Resolve technical issues for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and business applications. * Perform onsite troubleshooting and project-related work when required. * Provide technical recommendations and communicate effectively with clients. * Assist with root-cause analysis and long-term corrective actions. Project Delivery * Participate in Microsoft 365 deployments and migration projects. * Support endpoint modernization initiatives. * Assist with network upgrades, security improvements, and infrastructure rollouts. * Validate project completion and provide post-deployment support. * Contribute to security remediation and technology improvement initiatives. Documentation & Service Excellence * Maintain complete and accurate documentation. * Record work activities and time entries in ConnectWise Manage. * Create technical documentation, diagrams, and knowledge-base articles. * Follow established engineering standards and operating procedures. * Contribute to operational improvements and service delivery excellence. Required QualificationsExperience * 4+ years supporting IT infrastructure in an MSP or multi-client environment. * Experience working across multiple client environments simultaneously. * Strong customer-facing communication and consulting skills. * Experience performing onsite technical support and infrastructure deployments. Technical Skills * Microsoft 365 administration * Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) * Microsoft Intune * Microsoft Defender * Windows Server administration * Windows 10/11 support * Fortinet or equivalent firewall technologies * Managed switching and wireless networking * TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs * Infrastructure troubleshooting and diagnostics * ConnectWise Manage or comparable PSA platform experience Preferred Qualifications * Fortinet certifications * Microsoft certifications (MS-102, AZ-104, MD-102, etc.) * Azure administration experience * UniFi networking experience * PowerShell scripting knowledge * Auvik or other network monitoring platforms * Cybersecurity implementation experience * Experience supporting government, municipal, or regulated organizations Travel Requirements * Valid driver's license required * Reliable transportation required * Ability to travel regularly throughout: * New York City * Westchester County * Rye, NY * Hudson Valley region What Success Looks Like Within your first 90 days, you will: * Independently support assigned client environments. * Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft 365, Intune, Fortinet, and networking technologies. * Participate in client-facing projects and infrastructure deployments. * Maintain accurate documentation and service records. * Build trusted relationships with both clients and internal teams. * Contribute to technical standardization and process improvements.
